  • Engaged and Happy Learners: CIS is committed to the idea that an engaged student is a happy learner.  We will engage students by making our curriculum real, hands-on and  meaningful to students.

  • Adaptable and Thoughtful Learners: CIS students will be taught to think for themselves, their curiosity will be nurtured and a love of lifelong learning will be developed. Our goal is to ensure that students graduate with the skills needed to adapt and thrive in a fast-changing world. In short, CIS students are trained to be future decision makers.

  • Personalised Education:  Every student at CIS will have his or her own “Personalised Education Plan” (PEP) prepared at the start of every semester by the teacher, parent and student.

  • Comprehensive Assessment: Each student will work toward and be assessed according to their own unique talents, aptitudes and interests set forth in their PEP (see above).  This will ensure that all students at CIS will be successful.

  • Local to Global:  CIS students will be trained to succeed in a global society by active exposure to projects and people locally as well as those that go beyond local and national boundaries.

  • Teacher as Mentor:  At CIS, all teachers are mentors. That means, teachers serve not only as academic coaches, but also as adult guides and role models whose caring presence will be conducive to develop every child’s full potential.

  • Co-Curricular Activities: We believe that learning extends beyond the classroom and that learning involves the development of the whole person. Accordingly, the CIS student will participate in a variety of academic and non-academic pursuits including fine and performing arts including music and dance, technology and physical fitness programs. These activities will not be presented as “extra-curricular”, but as an integrated “co-curricular” program woven directly into the curriculum.

  • Building Partnerships: A CIS education is enriched by programs that actively link the programs in school with a wide array of partners outside school.  Toward our goal of making education real and engaging, we will develop curricular activities in concert with partners in the business, government, and higher educational sectors.

  • Technology Integration:  Rather than learn technology for its own sake, CIS students will master technology through its seamless integration into the learning process.  This will be accomplished through the provision of anytime-anywhere access to mobile and desktop computers throughout the school campus, wireless access to the Internet, distance learning programs and relevant curricular activities outside school being infused with technology use.

  • Character Education:  At CIS, we believe that an education is not only about learning but also about building character.  We will do this through an integrated approach that imbues character-based education into the day-to-day life and culture of the school at every level. Our students will learn through practice, the virtues of kindness, trust, honesty, generosity, empathy and selflessness.
